THE GPA EXAM EXPERIENCE: A CONTINUOUS MEASURE OF GROWTH
At GOALS Performance Academy, we believe that true player development happens throughout every training session, not just during a singular test. Our assessment structure is built into a daily drill schedule, ensuring that athletes are evaluated progressively on technical ability, tactical awareness, focus, and overall physical fitness.
Each session incorporates skill-building activities designed to measure real-time improvement, allowing athletes to track their progress in advance of and in between formal GPA score assessments.

AGE-BASED EVALUATION FOCUS

8-10 YEARS: Foundational skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting are assessed through engaging drills that prioritize control, speed, and precision, ensuring players develop technical confidence.

11-13 YEARS: Tactical awareness and advanced techniques are introduced, with drills focusing on one-touch passing, complex dribbling patterns, endurance, and decision-making scenarios within gameplay.

14+ YEARS: High-level training emphasizes game intelligence, positioning, mental resilience, and fitness benchmarks, ensuring players are ready for competitive gameplay and opportunity.

GPA TRAINING PHILOSOPHY
A HYBRID APPROACH TO YOUTH SOCCER DEVELOPMENT where we seamlessly blend the principles of Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) and Early Sports Specialization (ESS) to create a comprehensive and adaptable training experience for young athletes. With over 30 years of experience as a player and more than 20 years coaching, Coach Billy bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our training sessions, ensuring that each athlete receives the highest quality of coaching and development.
INTEGRATING LONG-TERM
ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT (LTAD)
Foundational Skills: We emphasize the development of foundational skills and a solid athletic base. Our youngest athletes (8-10 years) focus on mastering basic motor skills, which serve as building blocks for more advanced movements. Training Stages: Our structured training approach aligns with the LTAD framework. As athletes grow older (11-13 and 14-18 years), we introduce more complex and sport-specific training elements to support their development.
EARLY SPORTS SPECIALIZATION
(ESS) CONSIDERATIONS
Multi-Sport Engagement: We encourage participation in multiple sports and activities to enhance overall athletic development. This helps prevent burnout and overuse injuries commonly associated with early specialization. Balanced Training: Our balanced training program incorporates both general athletic development and soccer-specific skills. FOR SOCCER TRAINING
Customized for Soccer: We adapt the principles of the ICYA CADS model to fit the unique demands of soccer training.
